Mathematics is an important element of everyday life. At Badock’s Wood School we aim to give all children positive and fun experiences that will enable them to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject.
The National Curriculum for mathematics aims to ensure that all pupils:
Maths lessons are split into two parts totaling 1 hour 15minutes each day. The core lesson will be 45 minutes long and will focus on fluency, reasoning and problem solving within the area of maths being taught. The final 30 minutes will focus on gaps, times tables and mental maths target.
Alongside explicit maths lessons, we aim to include mathematics in our cross curricular activities.
