Dear parents, carers and friends,
A warm, warm welcome to Badock’s Wood Community Primary School & Children’s Centre. Our school, a former infant and junior school amalgamation, is at an exciting time in its history, with our new partnership with the Children’s Centre, and our first OfSTED “Good” in November 2012. Throughout this website, you will hear the same message over and over again:
Aspire – Achieve - Enjoy
We want all children to aspire to be the best they can possibly be, at whatever they want to do. Whether it’s to be the best artist, dancer, writer, musician, mathematician, or simply human, we want children to strive to be nothing but their very best. Equally, we want our children to challenge conventional expectations, and, when they are presented with barriers, ask not “Why?” but ask “Why not?”. Why shouldn’t our children go to sixth form? Why shouldn’t children from Badock’s Wood go to university? That’s one reason why we’ve based our new curriculum not on answers, but on questions.
We want all children to achieve far beyond their expectations, making strides of progress in every term they are with us. I personally check in with the progress of every child at several points during the year to ensure teachers and support staff are doing everything they can to promote and facilitate progress and achievement.
Finally, of course, we want your children to love school. We want our school to be a place where they make friends, laugh, enjoy being, want to return to over and over again.
We’re all really looking forward to working with you, and it’s a pleasure to have you with us.
